ANDREW W.K.: Autograph Marathon Video Posted Online
March 20, 2005When ANDREW W.K.'s second album, "The Wolf", was released in Japan, he flew over to celebrate with all the fans. Andrew decided to conduct a special, non-stop, 24-hour autograph marathon, where he would write indivual, personalized letters to as many fans as possible. Hundreds and hundreds of A.W.K. die-hards traveled to Tokyo from all over Japan to participate in the non-stop party. In addition, fans who couldn't make it all the way there had autographs signed and shipped to them. During the marathon, Andrew also made in-person trips to many radio stations, where he did interviews, played songs from "The Wolf" and signed more autographs. By the end, the marathon had stretched to more than 36 hours. You can watch some video highlights here.
As previously reported, ANDREW W.K. has recorded more than 20 songs for his upcoming third album, which is expected this spring. A live album is also in the works.
Andrew released his sophomore CD, "The Wolf", in September 2003. "The Wolf" was W.K.'s second full-length for Island Records and was the follow-up to his 2001 major-label debut, "I Get Wet".
